Volkswagen vs BMW: Safety wins

Which German car manufacturer should our weekly stock discussion participants invest into? This is the question they’ve tried to answer with our host, Dr. Hermann J. Stern.

At the first glance, Volkswagen seems like a perfect opportunity: all Obermatt Ranks, except Safety are good, it is partially owned by the state and the employees have a voting right in every major decision. When looked more closely, the company has a lot of debt and is largely exposed to Asia. Also, a nearby Tesla plant has a much lower production cost.

On the other hand, BMW seems like a more logical choice, especially given its better Obermatt Safety Rank.
