Stock news is irrelevant except for educational purposes

Dr. Hermann Stern has spent the last three blogs explaining that stock market news is irrelevant when it comes to making investment decisions. His argument is simple. Everything that is known about a stock is already included in its current price. If you read the same news as everybody else, what advantage could you possibly gain?

If that’s true, then why on earth does he publish a stock blog? Again his argument is simple. He wants to show how easy it is to buy stocks if you do it for the long term. In other words, he is writing his stock blog for educational purposes. This is not to suggest that you shouldn’t read any news. Read the news you like because that will help you decide which stocks you like. But you don’t have to read the stock market news because it won’t help you at all.

We buy the stocks we discuss and openly publish the returns of our portfolio. That's how much we believe in our stock research. Subscribe to the top 10 stocks for 100 markets conveniently by e-mail.
