- No debates about performance: There is often disagreement about performance - witness recent shareholder revolts. With the Bonus Index, rules are set in advance and made transparent, making objections to rewards difficult.
- No debates about pay: The more competitors’ executives beat, the more they are rewarded. The rules are approved by shareholders, and the metrics are audited by independent third parties. Who can now object to that?
- No undeserved compensation losses: Fat tails cause stock options and non-indexed performance shares to fail: Compensation is typically lower than expected. Indexing removes this compensation loss.
The Bonus Index rewards performance in a transparent and independent way so that pay results are resilient to disputes afterward.
