SSRN - Policy effects of indexed bonus plans

"On Compensation Policy: Accounting's contribution to executive pay" (SSRN working paper, April 26, 2009)

Brussel's recent proposal of caps on executive pay only caps motivation. Spiralling management pay is much better avoided by indexed bonus plans. This is also much easier to implement than other proposals on the negotiation table.
